길을 건너던 한 사람이 하늘을 올려다보며 손으로 가리킵니다
A person crossing a road pointed at the sky
지나가는 그 누구도 하늘을 쳐다보지 않았습니다
No passerby took the time to look at the sky
두 사람이 하늘을 바라보며 가리킵니다
Two people looked and pointed at the sky.
그 누구도 두 사람이 가리키는 곳을 보지 않았습니다
Nobody looked at what the two people were pointing.
세 사람이 고개를 들고 손으로 하늘을 가리킵니다
Three people looked up and pointed at sky
놀랍게도 지나가던 사람들이 발을 멈추고 아무것도 없는 하늘을 일제히 서서 바라보았습니다
Surprisingly, people stopped walking and stared at the empty sky.
 
2005년 10월 17일 천호역
October 17th, 2005, Cheonho station
전철을 타던 한 노인이 전동차의 틈새에 몸이 끼는 사고가 발생
An old man who was getting on the subway got stuck in  the gap.
한 사람이 큰 소리로 “우리 함께 밀어봅시다!”
One man shouted, “Let’s push together!”
하지만 그 누구도 움직이지 않았습니다
However, nobody moved
그 순간 “제가 도울께요!” 라며 또 한 사람이 외쳤습니다
At that instance, another man shouted, “I’ll help!”
조용한 가운데 “저도 같이 도울께요!”
In the middle of the silence, another shouted, “I will help, too!”
세 명의 사람이 밀기 시작한 전동차
Three people started to push the subway
침묵하던 많은 사람들이 함께 전동차를 밀기 시작했습니다
Others who hadn’t said anything started to push the subway
33톤의 지하철을 기울여 노인을 구했습니다
33 tons of subway leaned, and the people saved the old man
 
이것이 바로 세상을 변화시키는 3의 법칙이고

일본 정부는 이야기합니다
The Japanese government says:
전세계 지도 중 97%가 동해를 일본해로 표기하고 있으니 포기하라고
Give up because 97% of the world maps marks East Sea as the Sea of Japan
 
하지만 한국청년들이 이야기합니다
However, young Koreans say:
3%의 지도가 동해를 이야기하고 있으니 우리가 시작한다고
We are just starting because 3% of maps are marking it as the East Sea
2000년: 동해를 표기한 지도 3%
In  2000: 3% of the maps marked East Sea
2011년: 동해를 표기한 지도 29%
In 2011: 29% of the maps marked East Sea
 
그들의 길은 다다라서 더 이상 나아갈 수 없지만
Their road has been reached, so they cannot go forward
우리는 지금이 시작입니다
But we are just starting
 
일본교과서는 이야기합니다
Japanese textbook says
반복된 거짓은 진실이 된다 포기하라
Repeated lies become the truth, so give up
하지만 한국청년들은 이야기합니다
However, young Koreans say
진실은 반드시 밝혀진다 우리는 시작한다
Truth will always be revealed. We are just starting,
그들의 길은 이미 다다라서 가야 할 길이 없지만
They reached the dead end so they cannot  move on
우리는 지금부터 시작입니다
We are just starting

“외국학생들이 한국의 역사를 배우게 될 일은 없다.”
“Foreign students don’t have to opportunity to learn more about Korea’s history.”
하지만 한국청년들은 그들에게 이야기합니다

세계 곳곳에서 한국을 배우는 교재로 사용되고 있습니다
These are used everywhere in the world to learn about Korea
 
그들은 이야기하고 있습니다
They tell us
중국외교관 7천명 / 일본외교관 5천명 / 한국외교관 겨우 2천명
“국가홍보를 포기하라”
7,000 Chinese diplomats / 5,000 Japanese diplomats / Korean diplomats, only 2,000
“Give up  promoting public relations”
하지만 한국청년들은 이렇게 말합니다

Ten million Koreans who go abroad every year
그들이 모두 한국 홍보대사가 될 수 있다 그래서 우리는 시작한다

한국은 일본근처의 나라 중국근처의 나라, 존재감이 없는 희미한 나라에 불과하다
Korea is a country near Japan and China and is adim country that does not have existence presence.
 
하지만 한국청년들은 자신 있게 이야기합니다
However, young Koreans say proudly
일본과 중국은 ‘한국근처의 나라’로 불리게 되며
Soon, China and Japan will be known as  ‘Countries near Korea’
아시아 모든 청년들이 한국을 자랑스러운 내 친구의 나라로 부르게 될 것이라고
Young Asians will call Korea as the country of my proud friend
그들은 가야 할 길이 없지만 우리는 바로 지금이 시작입니다
They have nowhere to go, but we are just starting
한국 청년들의 열정은 세계에서 3번째로 많은 자원봉사자를 해외로 파견
Korea is the third in the world to send the most passionate volunteers overseas.
세계 제 1의 청년 자원봉사 대국으로 성장하고 있습니다
Korea is growing to become the country that sends the most volunteers in the world.

They say

한국청년들의 열정을 통해 대한민국은 1961년 OECD출범 이후

It is developing to become the most international and talented country
 
그들은 더 이상 나아갈 곳이 없지만
They have nowhere to advance
우리는 바로 지금이 시작입니다
This is our just the beginning.
한국청년들의 열정을 통해

오늘날 한국은 세계 10대 무역대국으로 성장하였습니다
Korea grew to become one of the ten countries with strong commerce
 
그들은 이렇게 이야기합니다

The reason why the ocean does not rot is because there is 3% of salinity
그 3%가 97%의 바닷물을 썩지 않게 한다
That 3% keeps 97% of the ocean waters clean
그들의 길은 다다라서 더 이상 나아갈 수 없지만
They cannot go forward because they have reached the end
 
우리는 지금이 시작입니다
We are just starting.
세계인구 1%에 불과한 한국 청년들의 열정은
