Why I like Koreans?
A Trip to Korea (8 April-26 April 2004)

It was a beautiful day when I landed at Incheon International Air Port. I still remember the panoramic view of the Incheon while the plane was preparing to land at the Paradise Air Port. I remember the beautiful Taxi Drive way towards Seoul on Air Port Express Road, the oceanic view and modern life all meeting at the same point. The Taxi Driver, Bista Kim was very courteous and helpful.

Then came the next day, I was showed around various places. I visited Seoul Islamic Center, being a Muslim I was very much interested in visiting this place. I was amazed to see the beautiful mosque as well as people going in harmony with modern life and religion. Next I visited a Buddhist Temple and Christian Cathedral in Seoul. People were very courteous. All helped me a lot in understanding their religions.

I also visited Korean Historical Places, Museums, Folk Villages, Cultural Places, Modern Places and Business Centers. There I had meetings with various Korean businessmen as well as officials of KITA (Korea International Trade Association) and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) etc. I also visited Seoul Trade Center. I also visited a Korean NGO, VANK (Voluntary Agency Network of Korea) and the Editor of Newspaper of this NGO, PR Korea Times. I had a wonderful meeting with them. The whole staff was very courteous and cultured. In Short I visited every beautiful place in Korea during my 19 days stay in Korea.

Here are some of the things, which really impressed me a lot. Koreans are culturally very rich people. I
could feel the traditional Asian hospitality all around me. Businessmen have ethical values of their own.
They are polite and helpful for their clients as well as business partners from abroad. I was shown this courtesy during my trip to Korea. I had more than 25 meetings with Korean Businessmen during my stay in Korea. The second thing, which really helped me in understanding Korean nature, was their loyalty to their nation and homeland. I found generally all the Koreans very loyal to their homeland. Always great nations love their homelands. Of course, Koreans are great.

Thirdly which really moved me, is Korean progress in the fields of Science and Technology. Koreans are
very intelligent and talented. I am impressed by their attitude towards science and technology. Fourthly
Koreans officials are very helping one. Wherever I went, I found them helpful and courteous. I was told,
before I entered Korea that Korean Immigration officials were very rude but believe me they were very polite. They did ask me a few questions but they handled me very gently and treated me like their guest. Fifthly Korean landscape is beautiful and Korean atmosphere is wonderful. I really enjoyed my stay their. Lastly Korean foods are very tasty. Some Times it is difficult to remember the names of the foods but I still feel the taste of the food especially Summer Kimchi.

I thank all the Koreans who met me during my trip to Korea and wish them a happy life. We all Pakistani
wish and pray to our Allah a lovely and prosperous future for our Korean brothers and sisters.
